“I find the Victorian-style B&B offers comfortable family rooms and luxury toiletries, it also stands out for its dedicated Keswick Launch Service, perfect for exploring Derwentwater Lake; plus, I think the staff provides spot-on local recommendations. The exceptional, varied breakfast is a highlight, and I noticed the hotel's pet-friendly approach adds to its charm. A genuinely welcoming base for Lake District adventures.”

Great B&B Experience
early communication spacious room quality ingredients
Lorna contacted me before arrival and allowed for early key collection. The room was spacious and included a king-sized bed and a single bed (perfect for families). The selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and even oat milk was excellent. I had a full English breakfast with quality ingredients, and a wide variety of butter flavors were available.
The internal decor of the hotel was a bit outdated and dark. The distance from town may be a drawback if you prefer being closer to the central area. Limited parking near the hotel added some inconvenience.
Location
9/10
The accommodation is situated on the edge of the town, so it provides good access to the Lakes. The area is suitable for those wishing to avoid the traffic congestion closer to the town center. The distance from the center is approximately a 15-minute walk.
Service
10/10
The host is very cute and accommodating to guests, ready to address any inquiries about the region. They offer valuable advice and recommendations for local attractions (very helpful). The staff maintains a positive, cheerful attitude, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere.
Dining
9/10
Breakfast includes a menu of cooked breakfast items, along with yogurts, cereals, fruits, and juices. There's a basket of snacks to enjoy whenever needed. Condiments and sauces are available in generous quantities. I was really pleased with the variety.
